Communion Thoughts by Tim Parkinson

In reading John 3:17-17, we see that God so loved the world He gave us His only Son, and sent Him into the world that didn’t know the Father.

Joh 13:15  For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

Joh 13:16  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

Joh 13:17  If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

In Communion and baptism, we identify with Jesus as our Lord, and that we are in covenant with Him.

Our Lord has sent us, His servants (disciples), into the world with a purpose. We are on a mission.

John 18:34b

and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

Prayer

Jesus, our identity is in You. We are Jesus people. In covenant with you.

You called it a new covenant at the Last Supper

You, being our Savior take away our sin, and we, as your servants go from this place, as you were sent  bearing witness of the Truth.

Your word is truth.

So, we covenant with You, to go where you send us and speak your words, remembering this Communion that you are in us and we are in You.

Amen so be it.
